About Us
Sanaa Studio Collective is a creative arts and production company that aims to decolonize the lens in which we view people of the African diaspora and beyond.
Our mission is to utilize visual arts and storytelling as a tool to create social change through reimagining and resharing the stories of the African Diaspora.
Our most cherished quote is that of the late Ousmane Sembene, "If Africans do not tell their own stories, Africa will soon disappear. We are not alone in the world, but we are our own sun. I do not define myself relative to Europe. In the darkest of darkness if the others do not see me, I do see myself. And surely do I shine!"
Production
We seek to reimagine production and storytelling by centering those stories that are often sidelines. We do this in production by working with people in underepresented groups.
