Cowgirls of The Wild West

Inspired by the African American women of the old Wild West, "Cowgirls of the Wild west", explores the influential impact African American women had in shaping the West through visual story telling. From the past to the present, these women have contributed in community advancement and culture through building schools, churches and towns. All while playing key roles as writers, renowned chefs, and investors.

Women like Bridget "Biddy" Mason, Susie Sumner Revels Cayton, Mary Fields "Stagecoah Mary", Elizabeth Thorn Scott Flood, Abby Fisher, and Mary Ellen Pleasant were some of the most influential trailblazers in the making of the West.
